In 1996, David E. Knapik, David R. Schoonmaker and Roger D. DeBelly, PE joined the firm as partners. With this addition, greater than 60 years of combined mechanical and electrical consulting engineering experience was added to the firm.
Today, H.T. Bernsdorff, Inc. employs 13 people that include 4 Professional Engineers (currently registered in 15 states), 3 mechanical designers, 2 plumbing/fire protection designers (1 with CIPE certification), 2 electrical designers and 2 administrative assistants.
Our construction documents are developed by experienced engineers and designers who recognize that inaccurate documents can contribute to delays and costly change orders. Our documents are created utilizing the latest in computer technology including AutoCAD, various internally developed spreadsheet analysis as well as commercially developed design software as necessary. Our construction documents and project engineering has been recognized by various clients for their completeness and coordination.
Special construction/renovation projects require an engineering lead to develop the site/project around the mechanical/electrical systems and/or process's. In this situation, H.T. Bernsdorff, Inc. will assemble a team of sub-consultants including architects, structural and site engineers and contractors (as necessary) to best fit the immediate need of the client. H.T. Bernsdorff, Inc. also works well as a team member and consultant to the Architect on new construction and major renovation projects. We also have extensive experience in design-build (fast track) projects.
Our reputation for excellence has been earned through our diverse range of clients. Our Clients consist of Architects, Building Owners, Government Agencies, Contractors, Industrial Facilities, Hospitals, Nursing Homes and Primary/Secondary Educational Facilities. Our work has also included many specialty applications including laboratories, kitchens, auditoriums, laundries, energy management systems, heat recovery systems, thermal storage/load shifting air conditioning systems, electrical generator/co-generation systems and numerous health care/hospital specific spaces and systems.
